Barefoot Flooring & Installation was founded in 2014 by Christy Merkel, a woman with a passion for craftsmanship, people, and doing things the right way—even when no one’s watching.

What started as a one-woman show has grown into a full-time crew serving Grand Forks and surrounding communities with expert flooring for rental properties, new builds, commercial spaces, and residential remodels.
 

With over 26 years of experience in flooring and construction, we’re known for being dependable, detail-driven, and hands-on from start to finish. Our commitment to excellence isn’t just professional—it’s deeply personal.
